The Conference will be held in Rotorua, the hub of New Zealand's forest industry and forest research.
Rotorua is a picturesque city located 3 hours south east of Auckland city, in New Zealand's North Island. The city is one of New Zealand's most popular tourism destinations due to its geothermal wonderlands, cultural history and bountiful attractions. Surrounded by beautiful lakes, the city offers a range of indoor and outdoor activities to suit all.

CONFERENCE VENUE
HOLIDAY INN AUCKLAND AIRPORT (7 MARCH 2010)
An evening ice-breaker function will be held at the Holiday Inn on 7 March. The following morning, we will depart by bus from this hotel for Rotorua where the rest of the meeting will be held. Due to the traffic congestion often experienced in Auckland, we recommend that you book your accommodation at the Holiday Inn.
More information about the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport can be found on www.holidayinn.co.nz.
BLUE BATHS, ROTORUA (8-12 MARCH 2010)
The conference will be hosted at Rotorua's Blue Baths, an elegant and historical venue. Built in the 1930s and recently restored to its former glory, it was originally a popular bath house catering to swimming enthusiasts from around the country and the world.
The Blue Baths is located near the city centre surrounded by Rotorua's other historical landmarks such as the Museum and the Polynesian Pools. With sweeping views of the Government Gardens and Lake Rotorua, the Blue Baths captures the essence of 1930's Spanish art deco design within a beautiful natural setting that makes Rotorua one of the most beautiful cities in New Zealand.
The IUFRO is proud to host the Phytophthora in Forests and Natural Ecosystems Conference in one of Rotorua's premier event venues.
More information about the Blue Baths can be found on www.bluebaths.co.nz.
ACCOMMODATION
It is up to each meeting attendee to secure their own accommodation in Auckland (meeting ice-breaker on 7 March) and Rotorua (8-12 March, inclusive).
AUCKLAND (7 MARCH 2010)
We have secured a limited number of rooms at the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport for 7 March; please mention "IUFRO Phytophthora meeting" to obtain the meeting discount. For the ease of a quick departure in the morning of the field trip (Monday 8 March) we prefer, if possible, all delegates stay at the Holiday Inn as our field day is already on a tight schedule, and we don't want the bus to make other pick-ups or wait for people coming from other locations; it will be rush hour traffic.

What type of clothing should I bring?
The conference will be held in March which is the start of New Zealand's autumn months. While the weather can be excellent, temperatures are a little cooler than summer, therefore you should bring suitable clothing and foot wear to suit these conditions.
